Now is a good time to make sure we’re more than familiar with the main 2018 color trends. True, we’re already halfway through the year, but this means we still have plenty of time to make up for any home décor défaillance.

All shades of pink

Mind you, a monochromatic house would look excessive, boring and might give you away as a bit of a pink fanatic! However, a few pink accents here and there will immediately boost your interior design. Why? Well, pink is a versatile color: true, you have magenta and hot pink, which are bright and intense, but there are countless more discrete shades, like rose and blush. Then, pink is also easily adaptable to any interior design styles, which means it will go hand in hand with a super contemporary look, as well as a more classic one.

Matte black

Black is the ultimate neutral. It can be sexy, sophisticated, edgy or mysterious and everything in between. Black has the unique ability to fade into the background or be used as a statement color while effortlessly integrating into almost any design style. Matte black takes sophistication on another level, but it can also have a carefree, non-dramatic look when it’s combined with other neutrals, like here.

Pastel colors are being associated with minimal, Scandinavian vibes. In fact, they have become the hipster generation’s favorites: the major advantage of employing pastel colors in our home décor is that they manage to make a room look warm and cozy without making it look stuffy and messy.

Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet is the Pantone color that has been flooding the interior design world in 2018. This eccentric tint has made its way into furniture and decoration, stimulating the inspiration and fantasy of many designers all over the world. The color violet may just look unconventional to you, but it is full of symbolism and hidden meanings. It is considered, in general, the symbol of artistic experimentation, of underground countercultures; it is the color that nature creates in the most special moments, that make us feel a true connection with our inner self, like certain moments of the dawn or the sunset, where all the spiritual power of nature comes out; it is also the color of meditation and the symbol of the seventh chakra: the completion  of the ideal path every human has to go through, in order to elevate his spirit. In 2018, interior designers are loving the fluidity of gradients: colors freely transitioning into others. Some gradients can be delicate and more nuanced, while others are designed to look bold and punchy -- when neon colors are employed, for instance.
