The Real Housewives: style your house like them!

Take your daily interior design inspo from The Real Housewives' luxurious lifestyle. Today’s motto is: “Go big, or go home!”
Are you familiar with the reality show The Real Housewives? It’s been running for over ten years, and there are spin-offs in a lot of countries! We’ll be honest with you: we don’t love it for its -- non existent -- plot, but rather, for the luxurious clothes and interiors. A balanced person is not supposed to attach too much importance to money, but, while watching that TV show, not shedding a tear at the thought of how we could style our house with that sort of wealth, is almost impossible! So here, we’re sharing with you a few pieces of furniture for you to splurge all of your money on, either now or if you ever end up living like a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills.
A set of coordinated sofas
Why get one sofa when you can get two? See, most of us end up with uncoordinated living rooms. Why? Well, what happens is that alas, the majority of us only have money enough for one couch at a time! So, just imagine the kind of luxurious, perfectly matched living room you would create, if you only had the resources to do so! Never say “never”: it can still happen, and here are two marble-like sofas to make all of your dreams come true.
But, there’s a majestic alternative to a set of sofas: only one, but stately and almost infinitely long. An exquisitely detailed, four seat sofa will definitely become the centerpiece of your living room. We happen to particularly appreciate this one: upholstered in sleek leather, its color pattern reminds us of the natural patterns we find on marble tiles. Moreover, imagine how gorgeous it will look in front of a fire, with flames reflecting and shining all over it!
Velvet
Velvet is one of the most royally luxurious fabrics ever invented. Matte but always vivid, it’s a fabric that enriches every surface it touches! Besides, it’s soft and it makes for the ideal seating solution: stools, ottomans, sofas, armchairs...velvet is never going to let you down. Should you really employ it then? The answer is yes, especially if you’ve already filled your house with leather: velvet will add a nice touch of warmth. Keep in mind that the main downside to living in a big mansion is feeling a bit lost and cold; velvet will make sure this never happens to you.
Original armchairs
Armchairs should all have their own personality. After all, when styling a luxurious living room, armchairs are what guarantee you your freedom: sofas should be very carefully coordinated, while armchairs can be different from one another, and from the rest of the room. For instance, if you styled a Neoclassical living room, why not play on contrast, selecting a minimal, contemporary armchair? However, you’re still completely free to play it safe and choose an armchair in the same style. But please, please, don’t be plain! Something about it must be striking, like the color, the upholstery or the general shape.
Extravagant lamps
Lamps are crucial: our eyes are immediately drawn to light sources, so we must choose our lamps carefully. Personally, we appreciate a bit of a dark touch in lamps too; for instance, this violet lampshade may not let too much light out, but it will create an evocative atmosphere. One suggestion: again, play on harmonious contrasts! The main characteristic of this lamp is the quasi-Viking horn that acts as pedestal: have a look at how gorgeous the contrast between the solidness of the horn and the semi-transparency of the other lamp’s glass sphere is!
Elegant table and tableware
This is something you really can’t skip. When you love your home, you’re simply much more likely to invite your friends over for dinner, brunch, afternoon tea! So naturally, you want to be an impeccable host. Our advice here is to be elegant, but not excessively luxurious: nobody wants their guests to start feeling uncomfortable and overwhelmed by their surroundings. We’d keep a nice, round table for small, intimate dinners with just a few close friends; as for the tableware, make it essential, but refined: a thin gold line enclosing the rim of glasses and plates is a classy touch of understated luxury.
However, what if you’re about to host a dinner for more that two or three guests? In that case, we suggest a rectangular table; the longer, the better. Depending on your favorite style, you could either get an extravagant table, or a more understated one. We’ve decided to show you an understated example, but please notice: the overall design might be basic and simple, but the sleek and polished surface make this table fit for any kind of luxurious surroundings.
Richly cushioned dining chairs
Tip from us: dining chairs should always be richly cushioned! Let’s make a distinction: if you’re just selecting a few informal chairs for your kitchen, then those can be pretty simple and basic. But the chairs you’re going to complete your dining room with need to be as elegant and comfortable as possible: not only will they will help set the tone of the room, but they will also ensure you and your guests will spend many merry hours around the table.
An over-the-top bathtub
You might remember our never ending love for bathtubs from this article. The main issue with them, is that designer bathtubs can be incredibly expensive! But, just while we’re reading this article, let’s pretend money is not an issue, and let’s be amazed by one of Baldi’s bronze and malachite, or bronze and amethyst bathtubs! A royal choice indeed. We recommend only one majestic bathtub: any other bathtub you might have can and should be quite basic and essential. Imagine taking a warm bath and be enchanted by the mesmerizing purple patterns surrounding you.
Self-care
Self-care is one of the principles that should guide your life: you can’t take care of the people around you if you don’t take care of yourself first. So, here’s a little something to help you in this process: a lovely makeup desk that conceals dozens of small compartments, and a LED-lit mirror for you to contour your face to perfection.
Stylish storage space
Are you going to place that vanity table in the master bedroom? Than we suggest to go for a stylish, coordinated bench and / or wardrobe. Again, let’s get all the furniture at once to create a perfect harmony that will lull us to sleep. In particular, pieces of furniture like cabinets and wardrobes are what you should put the most attention in choosing; why? Because they can be incredibly boring and dull! But don’t worry: you’re not running this risk with a velvety, spacious and red-purple bench.
