Finding Nemo: explore the ocean from your living room!

Finding Nemo, or losing yourself under the sea? Find out how to make your living room look like Atlantis!
Today we woke up, looked out of the window, and what did we see? Snow! It goes without saying that by now we’re sick and tired of this winter. So, in order to stop thinking about this awfully cold weather, we started daydreaming about summer, white beaches, swimming in the ocean… The result is this article: take winter out of your mind with our tips on how to style a relaxing, ocean-inspired living room.
Surf on
Now, if we were lazy, we would suggest the obvious choice: blue ceramic tiles. But we detest banality, so we took some time to explore floor designs, until we found what we were looking for. Would you consider getting a resin floor? Here’s why you you should. It’s shiny and refined as marble, but way less expensive; it’s a resistant material that will look perfect for years, and finally, just take a look at the picture below! This mesmerising dark blue floor decoration has been made possible by the great workability of resin: floors can be treated as canvases. This specific variant of blue resin floor is ideal if you want to immerse yourself completely in the soothing darkness of the ocean.
If you’re looking for lighter shades of blue, why not consider this? Every surf lover out there will adore this floor! Don’t be set back by the fact that it was designed as a pool floor: you’re free to style your living room however you like.
A deep blue sofa
We bet you’ll be looking forward to crashing on this dark blue couch. Richly cushioned, upholstered with soft fabric: this is going to become your favourite daytime napping station.

By the way: if you’re finding this dark blue sofa way too serious and dramatic, why don’t you try making it more cheerful by adding these two plush toys? You can use them as pillows, and we’re sure these two happy whales will instantly brighten up your day!
Liquid coffee table
If you’re trying to design an ocean-styled living room, make sure every piece of furniture is reminiscent of water; the previous sofa, for example, is a direct reference to the ocean depths. But not everything needs to be dark blue: we chose this lovely coffee table for you. Round, with a cool-white glassy surface, doesn’t this classy table remind you of a tiny pond? Place a goldfish bowl in the center, and the illusion will be complete!
Soft drops
We know many among you would never trap an innocent goldfish inside a tiny bowl, and you’re absolutely right. That’s why we kept wrecking our brains for the perfect water decoration item, and we came up with a set of adorable aquamarine vases. Inspired by the spontaneous shapes we find in nature, these glass vases casually rest on pedestals made from Basaltina stones and Carrara marble. A magical mix of natural elements and man-made materials, the Cumuli vases will make your personal ocean bubbly and lighthearted.
IIICEBEEERG!
These icebergs are completely danger-free: why don’t you try hanging these unusual shelves around your living room? Our suggestion is to stack three or four of them vertically on the wall: they will be a perfect shelving unit and a delightful décor item at the same time.
Cthulhu door handles
We agree that these Portuguese, octopus-shaped door handles may not be fit for every living room, but they’re so unusual that we had to share them with you! Gold can be quite a tricky color to match, so take a minute to decide whether or not these lovely gold octopuses will actually match your doors. Still, we bet they will make every Lovecraft’s fan fall in love with them.
