Timeless: Savio Firmino’s classic designs

Today, we’ll focus on the timeless Savio Firmino. Let’s learn more about this renown Florentine brand: we just admired their creations at Milan’s Salone del Mobile!

It doesn’t matter how exhausting it is to walk all day around the Salone: we knew we had to stop by Savio Firmino’s stand at some point. And in fact, this was one of the very first things we did, and needless to say, it was a wonderful, eye-opening visit. Are you familiar with this Italian brand? No need to be embarrassed: this article is your chance to catch up!

For many devoted customers, Savio Firmino has become a warranty of Italian craftsmanship, expertise and quality; is it such a surprise? After all, their story goes a long way back indeed: 1941 is the year when Firmino Savio decided to found his workshop. From those first chandeliers, the range of products broadened gradually. So much so that today, the Savio Firmino range of classic designs spans at least three rooms: bedroom, bathroom and kitchen...and nursery too!

Also, we shouldn’t be surprised by the keen attention to detail and passion for harmony and art that are some Savio Firmino’s core values. After all, their first shop was opened right in the centre of Florence, under the influence of all those many Florentine artists of the past. It’s precisely this union of craftsmanship and art that has turned Savio Firmino into a well-established brand; and it really took almost no time for them to start receiving recognition: just a few years after their opening, their products already started to be sold overseas, mainly to English-speaking countries, like the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa.

People at this company know that the valuable things in life take time, attention and passion, and that’s how each unique piece is carefully designed and measured; how it slowly starts taking a well-definite shape and soul, and how it’s finally decorated and refined with the most precious finishes. A person who loves Savio Firmino’s creations is somebody who enjoys savouring each moment; it doesn’t really matter how busy your activities keep you: you always know that a Savio Firmino creation will give you the chance of taking a luscious minute all for yourself, whenever you need it.

Love for the past is evident not only in the importance given to the artisanal process, but also in the types of products and the way they’re styled. Take a look at the picture below, for example. It’s a classic cradle: how many of those do you see around anymore? They’ve lost their popularity, as they can only be used for a few weeks, after which a baby needs a bigger bed with high rail guards. This cradle, made of white wood, takes us back quite a few years in the past and its solidity, together with its skillfully carved legs and the rich padding of the inside, make it an item a tiny king or queen would be happy to sleep in. One detail that we love? Take a look at the toy animals hanging above it: they’re characterized by a rough style of carving, which reminds the onlooker of the old wooden toys parents used to quickly carve out for the joy of their children.

Still, “love for the past” doesn’t mean this brand doesn’t live in the present. First of all, a modern, successful company cannot be living in the past. The passion for quality and the knowledge of traditional techniques are still fundamental, of course, but other key features are openness to the international market, modern, functional offices and a dynamic staff, and Savio Firmino can boast all of these. Moreover, right at the entrance of their stand at the Salone del Mobile, guess what we found? A gorgeous, classic pink sofa with USB charging stations on each armrest! A cheeky touch was added by the pillow, covered in prints of all the main social media’s logos.

Many do think the younger generations don’t really know how to appreciate beauty and quality anymore; are you a parent who’s scared of this possibility? Then, you’ll be glad to know that Savio Firmino also designs bedrooms and accessories for children. Take a look at the magic design of this room: the quality and the style is perfectly equal to a room for adults’, but the proportions and the pastel colors mark it as a cozy and warm environment for a child to grow up in. Also, please do notice those gorgeous bunk beds: children love playing house, and shall we bet yours are never going to want to play anywhere else?

Of course, every age has different interior design tastes, and this is more than fair. Still, if you feel like classic designs are the way to go as far as your own taste is concerned, then we can’t but recommend Savio Firmino and their mesmerizing creations than bring the past back to a new, vibrant life.
