Cheers! A few ideas for the perfect bar stool

Cheers, mate! Why go all the way down to a bar, when you can seat on your own bar stools?
Few things take the edge off like enjoying a few drinks with your friends on a Friday night, after the chaos of the week. You and your mates probably have an arm-long list of all your favorite bar, pubs and wineries. But let’s be honest with each other here: once you’re past your mid-twenties, how much do you actually feel like dragging yourself outside and ending up all crammed in crowded bar, shouting your order to the bartender? That’s why we’ll tempt you with a range of the most luxurious bar stools: enjoy your drink undisturbed.
Full-back bar stools
There’s an ocean of bar stools out there, but full-backs are one of the main categories. You should choose them if you want to perch yourself up on a stool that despite a small seat, is still as comfortable as a chair. Needless to say, the specific style will depend on how you’re planning to style the rest of the room. For instance, for an all-white room we suggest an eye-catching, stately bar stool. What’s important here is the color: a piece like this one, with black velvet and golden brass inserts, is guaranteed to catch everyone’s attention. But be careful! You don’t want to overdo it: depending on how spacious the bar counter is, we’d recommend three stools, max.
Bar stools are not chained to a bar counter: they’re perfectly fit to be put in a classic-looking kitchen too. Especially in this case, you’ll have to value the stool’s functionality the most: is it comfortable? Is it practical? Remember we tend to spend a long time in our kitchens! If you have a traditional kitchen, with wood and stone as the main materials, copper cookware hanging all over the room, and so on, why not go for an ultra-classic design?
Finally -- as far as full-back bar stools are concerned, you always have the chance of extremely luxurious and over-the-top choices. This high-end stool is an example: instead of resembling a simple chair, it is modelled on an full armchair; its bold look is enhanced by the use of black leather and a golden finish along the edges.
Let’s go backless
Backless bar stools are the second main category; because they tend to be less pricey and even more practical than the full-backs, they are generally more common. They’re the exact opposite of an ergonomic seating solution, but they’re ideal to lean on the bar with your elbows and spill out all of your secrets to the bartender -- or your friends. They can be very basic or very elaborate; if you go for a basic model, you should pay a lot of attention to features like shape and material. The shape should be well defined and dynamic: below you can see how the designers played with circles and triangles. Wood is always an excellent choice of material, and the color won’t matter too much, as long as you choose a solid, consistent shape for your stool.
Backless stools can be very informal, but they can also be extremely elegant and refined! Not to mention comfortable. Consider this one: glossy black varnish covers the four harmonious and slightly bent legs, while the seat is a soft cushion upholstered in an elegant violet velvet. We suggest keeping this precious stool out of the kitchen! It deserves to sit in front of a luxurious, private bar counter.

Finally, at the opposite end of the spectrum there are outdoor stools that can only be used in very informal contexts. Of course, we’re not saying they can’t be pretty, even if they’re made of white plastic or resin: these ones, thanks to their gummy, irregular shape are still quite eye-catching. Nevertheless, keep in mind that there’s a very thin line between funny and gross: it’s a slippery slope you want to keep away from!
